First snow

Tuesday 30th August. By Jodie.

Hiking in the warmth of the sun is so nice. Especially after last night’s rain, which this morning turned to hail, then to sleet, then to wet snow. Too cold! Now the clouds are lifting and we’re hiking alongside Amethyst Lake, with views of the mountains called The Ramparts. The sun shining between the clouds makes for pretty views and photos.

The next day: More snow overnight, but this morning it doesn’t clear, so we pack and start walking in the falling snow.
