Bear, beaver, tree

For our second hike into Kluane national park, we had company. Kam and Cynthia, who both lived in Perth in 1995, joined us as did their two “puppies”, Hoonah and Raven. It was the first time for a few things including hiking with dogs, hiking with so many women (outnumbered 5 to 1) and playing bear, beaver, tree with more than two people.

Bear, beaver, tree is like paper, rock, scissors but is played when it is too cold for the hands so it is done using facial expressions. Rules are: bear eats beaver, beaver eats tree, tree falls on bear…..the appropriate facial expressions are demonstrated in one of the photos below.

It is a useful game to determine who will get the last square of chocolate, needed up here in Canada where Cadburys puts 21 if them in a 100g block.

Our first blog, five star tent, was a six month project in parallel with a journey on foot and by kayak from Alaska to Patagonia. Now back to real life, Jodie is inspired to start blogging again, just a little bit, with photo theme hop.
